1. Introduction
Welcome to Milestone ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Milestone app (the "App").
Milestone is a countdown and event tracking application designed to help you track important dates and milestones in your life. We built this app with privacy as a core principle — your data belongs to you, and it stays with you.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike many apps, Milestone does not collect any personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your location or geographic data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Your milestone entries, dates, or any content you create
- Photos, files, or any media
- Contacts, calendar data, or other personal information
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for any personal information to use the App.
3. Local Data Storage
All data you create in Milestone — including your milestones, groups, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using SQLite, a secure local database.
What This Means for You
- Complete Privacy: Your milestone data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- Full Control: You have complete control over your data. You can delete any milestone or all your data at any time from within the App.
- Device-Specific: Your data exists only on the device where you created it. If you delete the App or get a new device, your data will not automatically transfer.
- No Backup to Our Servers: We do not have access to your data and cannot recover it if lost.
Important: Because your data is stored locally, we recommend using your device's built-in backup features (such as iCloud Backup for iOS or Google Drive Backup for Android) if you want to preserve your milestone data.
4. In-App Purchases
Milestone offers optional premium subscriptions and a lifetime purchase option. These purchases are processed entirely through the Apple App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices).
How Purchases Work
- All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store or Google through the Play Store, depending on your device
- We do not receive, process, or store any payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.)
- Apple or Google may share limited transaction information with us (such as whether a purchase was completed) to unlock premium features
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscription status and entitlements across both iOS and Android platforms. RevenueCat helps us:
- Verify your subscription status to unlock premium features
- Manage subscription renewals and expirations
- Process restore purchases requests
- Synchronize subscription status across platforms where applicable
RevenueCat may receive anonymous identifiers to manage your subscription status, but this information cannot be used to personally identify you. RevenueCat does not have access to your milestone data or any content you create in the App.

5. Notifications
Milestone can send you local notifications to remind you about upcoming milestones. These notifications are:
- Entirely Local: Notifications are scheduled and delivered directly by your device's operating system
- Not Cloud-Based: We do not use push notification servers or cloud services
- Under Your Control: You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the App settings or your device's Settings app
- Private: The content of your notifications is never transmitted to us or any third party

Milestone uses minimal third-party services:
Apple App Store (iOS)

What We Don't Use
- No analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No advertising networks
- No crash reporting services that collect personal data
- No social media integrations
- No third-party tracking or data collection tools
7. Children's Privacy
Milestone is rated 4+ on the App Store and "Everyone" on Google Play, and is safe for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information from any users, we are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
The App does not contain:
- User-generated content sharing
- Social features or communication tools
- Advertising
- Links to social media
- Any age-inappropriate content
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time at our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
